The Intercourse
Village Bed & Breakfast was a unique project in a unique
setting. The task set forth was to create a bed and breakfast
farmette in the quaint tourist town of Intercourse. Three
buildings were built behind an existing 19th century brick
farmhouse; each modeled after a particular agrarian building
type: a carriage house, a spring house (the honeymoon suite),
and a barn. The details complete the illusion, including the
bale of straw suspended from the hoist beam of the barn. The
bed and breakfast has been awarded, for 3 consecutive
years, the Four Diamond Award from AAA National
Headquarters and AAA Lancaster County. The national award
is given to an establishment when the property is
excellent and displays a high level of service and
hospitality.
